Natural way of Getting rid of Acne Scars and Blemishes

by Grace Empson

There has been an increasing interest in finding natural methods to get rid of acne scars and marks. Fortunately, there are some methods that can be used to eradicate these unsightly blemishes left behind by acne.

The silver lining behind home remedies for acne blemishes is the low cost because most of the ingredients are readily available in your home. The two negative aspects of home remedies are that the effects can take longer to notice and they can vary greatly from individual to individual. Patience and consistency are key factors when you choose to try out natural remedies for acne scar removal.

Natural Acne Scar Removal

Before trying any natural home remedy for acne scars and marks, make sure to wash your face with warm water. Don't forget to test the product on a small patch of skin to make sure it doesn't produce irritation or an allergic reaction. Also keep in mind that a gentler version of the following remedies can be achieved by using small amounts of water.

Garlic

Garlic is considered a wonder food for its many health properties. In this case it has also been used to treat acne scars. Since garlic can produce a stinging sensation, make sure to rinse it off immediately if it starts burning.

For this home remedy, finely grate a clove of garlic and mix with two tablespoons of water. Apply the paste directly to the area and massage carefully. Leave the paste on your skin for no more than five minutes because the garlic will begin to remove a layer of scar tissue.

Always apply aloe vera on your skin right after this treatment, because the garlic can irritate your skin. Aloe vera will rehydrate your skin and protect it without causing further irritation.

Lemons and Tomatoes

Both lemons and tomatoes are fruits that are high in citric acid which has excellent properties for cleaning and rejuvenating the skin. For years, they have been used in natural skin treatments. Due to their high Vitamin A content, tomatoes in particular reduce the production of sebum.

When you use lemon juice, just squeeze a tablespoon of juice. Using a cotton ball, apply the lemon juice directly to the affected area. Remove the juice after ten minutes using a mild cleanser.

Tomato juice can be also be applied directly to the skin with a cotton ball. Remember to rinse after 10 minutes.

It is always best to use fresh natural products. Canned products contain preservatives and additives that my cause side effects and reduce the effect of the natural components.

We have mentioned some natural and inexpensive ways to deal with acne scarring, but there are others. Remember the results of natural scar treatment can vary from person to person. With a little patience you will se how your mild acne scars and blemishes will disappear with natural home remedies.
